Matthew 4:4, “But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Everything we are and do as a church begins with the unshakeable foundation of God's inerrant Word. Roark and Cline write, “God speaks. Churches should listen and follow. It’s that simple. When a church listens and follows, it begins to look like the One it is following. It reflects his love and holiness. It displays his glory. A church will look like him as it listens to him.” Therefore, if we want to be the best Hillsboro Baptist Church we can be, we can’t rely on “the best business practices or the latest styles.” We must “look to God,” and “start by listening to God’s Word again.”

SHOWING GOD'S LOVE

1 John 4:7-11, 19,"Dear friends, let us love on another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another...We love because he first loved us."

At Hillsboro we recognize that we have graciously and freely been given so much through Jesus, and it is now our calling to share the grace and love of Christ to one another, to the hurting and broken, and those who are lost.
